The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned power outages in parts of the Ashanti, Central and Volta Regions today, Tuesday, August 25, 2026, as it undertakes maintenance works on its distribution network.
According to ECG, the exercise is intended to improve the reliability and quality of electricity supply and allow engineers to carry out scheduled interventions on sections of the network.
In the Ashanti Region, several communities are expected to experience interruptions. Some areas, including Effiduase, Apemso, Asekyerewa and the Senkyi enclaves, are scheduled to be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Other affected communities include Asenua, parts of Ahwiaa, Overseas, Maase, Simms SHS, parts of Fawoade, Adumakase Kese, Wawase and Meduma. The duration of the interruption varies depending on the specific maintenance activity in each area.
ECG has also scheduled maintenance-related outages in parts of the Central and Volta Regions, with some affected customers expected to experience interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The company has advised affected residents and businesses to make the necessary preparations ahead of the exercise.
