Court Grants Injunction to Halt Adwoa Safo from Proceeding with Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s Funeral
The Accra High Court has granted an injunction restraining Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, from taking any further steps toward the funeral of her late father, Apostle Prof. Emeritus Ing. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
The decision was disclosed by legal counsel involved in the case, who confirmed that the court’s order prevents Hon. Adwoa Safo from continuing with the funeral arrangements until the legal dispute surrounding the matter is fully determined.
The ruling follows an application filed before the court seeking to halt the planned funeral, amid an ongoing disagreement over the organisation of the final rites for the founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission. The case has attracted widespread public attention, with members of the church and other interested parties closely monitoring developments.
The injunction could have a significant impact on the funeral, which had been scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 30. Unless the court’s order is overturned or varied, the event is expected to be postponed pending the final outcome of the legal proceedings.
Supporters, family members, and the general public are now awaiting further directions from the court regarding the future of the funeral arrangements. The case is expected to continue as all parties present their arguments before the court reaches a final determination.
