Residents and motorists in Kumasi are expected to experience improved road conditions following the commencement of rehabilitation works on the Truba–Buokrom–South Africa Road, a stretch measuring approximately 10.1 kilometres. The project forms part of the government’s Big Push infrastructure programme, which seeks to improve road networks and make transportation easier for communities across the country.
The rehabilitation is expected to address difficulties faced by motorists navigating sections of the road, particularly where damaged surfaces and poor driving conditions slow down movement\. Traders, commercial drivers and residents who depend on the route could also benefit from easier access to markets, workplaces and other essential services once the work is completed.
The project is part of broader efforts to upgrade road infrastructure and improve connectivity within the Ashanti Region. Better roads can help reduce vehicle maintenance costs, improve travel conditions and support commercial activities in surrounding communities.
However, residents will be watching closely to see how quickly construction progresses and whether the project is completed within its scheduled timeframe. Motorists are also encouraged to exercise caution around active construction zones and follow any traffic instructions provided by road authorities.
