The Inspector General of Police has promoted 25 officers for their exceptional professionalism and outstanding contributions to law enforcement. The officers were recognised for their roles in successful operations that led to the arrest of suspects and the interception of illegal drugs across the Bono East, Tema and Western Central Police Units.
BreakingThe Ghana Police Service has arrested 10 suspects in an intelligence-led operation at Mataheko-Afienya in the Greater Accra Region over their alleged involvement in internet fraud. Police say the suspects were reportedly brought from Nigeria by a suspected ringleader, who housed and supervised them in carrying out fraudulent online activities, while investigations continue.
The Ghana Police Service is investigating a viral video allegedly showing misconduct by an officer in Ashanti North. The Service says it is reviewing the incident and will apply disciplinary action if necessary.
BreakingA serious road accident occurred this morning on the Accra–Aflao Road near West Port Filling Station between Central University and Dawhenya, involving a vehicle with registration number GS 4390-12. Two occupants survived the crash and have been taken to the hospital for treatment, while the cause of the accident is yet to be established.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has suspended the salary of an interdicted teacher at Bole Senior High School following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student. The Service says the teacher has absconded after the allegations surfaced and is now being sought by the police.
