Four Ghanaians have been hauled before the High Court in Accra over their alleged involvement in a plot to export nearly four tonnes of cocaine from Ghana to France.
The accused persons have been identified as Desmond Koranteng Curiel, also known as Paul Kweku Yeboah or “Biggs”; Musah Attah, alias “Kromo”; Kweku Otchere; and Jessica Hartog. They are facing charges relating to conspiracy to export narcotic drugs without the required license and the actual exportation of narcotic drugs.
The case follows the seizure of almost 3.9 tonnes of cocaine by French customs officials at the Port of Dunkirk on September 10. The drugs, estimated to be worth about €225 million, were allegedly concealed among plastic waste inside a container that had arrived from Ghana, with part of the consignment reportedly intended for Belgium.
A Dutch national, Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as “Bolle Jos”, has also been named in connection with the case but remains at large. Ghana’s Narcotics Control Commission has been working with international investigators as authorities seek to establish how the shipment allegedly left Ghana.
The four accused persons have been remanded in custody for four weeks and are expected to return to court on October 13, 2026. The case remains before the court, and the allegations against the accused have not yet been proven.
