The Ghana Police Service has declared Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, popularly associated with the social media name “Ghana Jollof,” wanted over an alleged case of inciting violence.
In a wanted-person notice issued on Thursday, September 17, the Police identified Kodua as a 40-year-old woman and appealed to the public to provide any credible information that could assist investigators in locating her.
According to the Police, she was last seen at the Accra International Airport on August 4, 2022. The Service further indicated that intelligence available to investigators suggests she may currently be in the United Kingdom.
The “Ghana Jollof” account has attracted considerable attention on social media for its outspoken commentary on Ghanaian political issues. However, the Police notice did not identify the specific videos, statements or posts that allegedly constitute incitement to violence.
The Police have therefore urged anyone with useful information about Barbara Asantewaa Kodua’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the Service on 0500100010.
The allegation remains a matter for investigation, and no court has established that Kodua committed the alleged offense.
