Police Issue Strong Warning Ahead of NPP Northern Regional Elections
The Ghana Police Service has issued a strong warning to individuals who may attempt to disrupt the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Northern Regional Delegates Congress.
Northern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Wisdom Lavoe, called on all stakeholders to work together to ensure that the elections are conducted peacefully and without disturbances.
The warning comes as the NPP holds its regional executive elections across the country on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The police command says it is prepared to deal with anyone whose actions threaten the peace or interfere with the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
DCOP Lavoe urged party members, delegates and supporters to respect the rules governing the elections and avoid behaviour that could create tension at the various voting centres.
The security service also encouraged stakeholders to cooperate with the police to ensure that the exercise is completed in a peaceful and orderly manner.
The NPP’s regional elections are part of the party’s ongoing internal reorganisation as it prepares to rebuild its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
