The first batch of 300 Ghanaian nationals evacuated from South Africa has safely arrived at Accra International Airport in Accra aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight.
The arrival marks the beginning of a coordinated evacuation effort aimed at bringing stranded Ghanaians back home safely. Family members and officials were present at the airport to welcome the returnees, many of whom appeared relieved and emotional after their journey.
Authorities have assured the public that arrangements are being made to ensure the safe reception and welfare of the evacuees upon arrival. More batches of Ghanaian nationals are expected to arrive in the coming days as the evacuation exercise continues.
The government has also expressed gratitude to all agencies and partners involved in facilitating the successful operation.
