The Minister for Roads, Hon. Governs Agbodza, has raised serious concerns over the slow pace of work on the Techiman–Sawla road project following a recent inspection visit with his team.
During the visit, the minister described the situation as unacceptable, stressing that the development of national roads should not be influenced by political affiliations. He made it clear that both NDC and NPP supporters must be treated equally in the delivery of infrastructure, emphasizing that the focus should be on building durable and lasting roads for Ghana.
Hon. Agbodza further urged the Bono Regional Minister to take a more active supervisory role over the contractor handling the project. This follows concerns that despite the government reportedly paying GH¢66.3 million for the project, progress on the ground has been disappointingly slow.
He expressed frustration at the delay, noting that public funds must translate into visible and timely development outcomes. According to him, contractors must be held accountable to ensure value for money and avoid unnecessary project delays.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Roads to monitor infrastructure projects across the country and ensure efficient delivery, especially on key road networks expected to improve transportation and economic activity.
