Police in the Ashanti Region have launched a manhunt for a 27-year-old man, Kwadwo Richmond, who is alleged to have killed his friend at Asuboa in the Asante Akyem South Municipal District over a GH¢20 dispute.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred following a disagreement between the suspect and the victim over money that had reportedly been promised but not delivered. What began as a minor misunderstanding is said to have escalated into a violent confrontation, leading to the tragic death of the victim.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that tensions quickly flared during the exchange, with the suspect allegedly attacking his friend in the heat of the moment. The victim was later pronounced dead, sending shockwaves through the quiet community of Asuboah.

Following the incident, Kwadwo Richmond reportedly fled the scene and has since gone into hiding. Police have begun an intensive search operation to track him down and bring him to justice.

Residents in the area have expressed deep concern over the incident, describing it as both shocking and senseless. Many have called for calm while urging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to assist law enforcement authorities.

The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at a nearby mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
