A devastating road accident at Buduatta Junction on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway has claimed the lives of a husband, his wife, and their four-month-old baby after a collision involving a private car, a fuel tanker, and a tipper truck.
According to reports, the family was travelling from Winneba to Kasoa when tragedy struck. Their private vehicle reportedly lost control after a pickup truck made a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre, forcing the driver into a difficult situation. The car subsequently veered into the path of an oncoming fuel tanker, resulting in a head-on collision.
Moments after the initial crash, a tipper truck slammed into the rear of the fuel tanker, worsening the accident scene. The husband and wife were pronounced dead at the scene, while their four-month-old baby, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to St. Gregory Catholic Hospital but sadly passed away later while receiving treatment.
The heartbreaking incident has once again raised concerns over reckless driving and dangerous overtaking on Ghana’s highways, with many calling for stricter enforcement of road safety regulations to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
