The arrests were made during a joint security operation after intelligence indicated the group had been deployed to provide security at a planned chief installation in the Akuapem South area. What greeted officers on arrival was anything but an ordinary security detail — ten men kitted out in official-looking immigration uniforms, armed with pump-action rifles and a taser, with two vehicles parked nearby. All weapons and vehicles were immediately impounded. When paraded before officers and asked to account for the uniforms, the suspects wasted little time pointing to their source. "Our boss gave them to us — Hon Mustapha," one of them volunteered, a confession that has now opened up a wider line of investigation into how Ghana Immigration Service uniforms found their way into the hands of civilians. Police were emphatic — none of the ten men are officers of the Ghana Immigration Service. Beyond the impersonation, authorities believe the group has been involved in a pattern of violent attacks targeting farmers and landowners in the area, the hallmark of land guard operations that have long terrorised communities across parts of the Eastern Region. The ten suspects have been named as Dawu Joseph, 33; Evans Dakavo, 34; Kwame Aboagye, 34; Christian Atsu, 38; Samuel Annan, 29; Thomas Davidson, 34; Abusapanyin Owusu Paul, 56; Richard Agyemang, 30; Jerry John Kwame; and Samuel Kwame. Their occupations — farmer, vulcanizer, security man — tell a story starkly at odds with the authority their uniforms were designed to project. All ten remain in police custody in Akuapem South as investigations continue. The identity of "Hon Mustapha" and the full extent of his role in the scheme are now at the centre of the inquiry.Sonnet 4.6
