Osman Ayariga, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, has urged young people nationwide to move beyond complacency and take on active roles as drivers of change within their communities. He explained that leadership should not be seen merely as holding positions or enjoying the status that comes with titles, but rather as making a meaningful difference and committing to positive transformation.
He encouraged the youth to take responsibility and play a significant role in the country’s development, stressing that Ghana’s future largely depends on young people who lead with purpose, creativity, and integrity.
“Be leaders of change, not occupiers of space,” he stated, highlighting the need for a shift in mindset among the youth.
He also advised young people to build their skills, stay disciplined, and make good use of available opportunities, noting that genuine leadership is shown through action, service, and the ability to motivate others.
