NPP Youth Organizer Condemns Insults Targeting President Mahama and His Family
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Organizer, Moses Abor, has strongly condemned the persistent insults directed at President John Dramani Mahama and his family by some members of the party on social media.
Speaking on the growing trend of political discourse online, Mr. Abor emphasized that while criticism of government policies and leadership is a vital part of any democratic society, it should never descend into personal attacks or abuse aimed at individuals and their families.
According to him, political engagement should focus on issues that affect the country’s development rather than offensive remarks that undermine respect and civility in public discourse.
Mr. Abor urged party supporters and social media users to exercise restraint and uphold responsible communication, stressing that constructive criticism is more effective in holding leaders accountable than insults or character attacks.
He noted that maintaining respectful political conversations would not only strengthen Ghana’s democracy but also promote national unity despite differences in political opinion.
His comments come amid increasing concerns over the tone of political discussions on social media, where exchanges between supporters of the country’s major political parties have often become hostile and deeply personal.
