Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has pushed back against concerns raised about the current state of Ghana’s Free Senior High School programme.

He maintained that government is providing the necessary support to keep the programme running, rejecting suggestions that the policy has been left struggling.

His response follows comments by former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who raised concerns about aspects of Free SHS, including feeding and other support for students.

The Education Minister suggested that some of the concerns may have been based on incomplete information and assured Ghanaians that government remains committed to sustaining the programme.
