No More Removing Laptops or Shoes! Accra International Airport Introduces Faster Security Screening
Passengers travelling through Accra International Airport can now look forward to a faster and more convenient security screening process following the installation of new state-of-the-art security screening equipment by the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).
According to GACL, the newly installed technology allows passengers to leave their laptops, shoes, belts and approved liquids inside their carry-on bags during security screening. The upgrade is expected to significantly reduce waiting times and improve the overall passenger experience at the airport.
The advanced screening system is designed to enhance both efficiency and security, eliminating the need for travellers to repeatedly remove personal belongings before passing through security checkpoints.
Airport authorities say the move aligns with international aviation standards and forms part of ongoing efforts to modernise airport operations while ensuring the highest levels of safety for all passengers.
Travellers are, however, encouraged to continue following all security instructions from airport officials, as prohibited items remain strictly banned.
The latest upgrade is expected to make journeys through Accra International Airport smoother, quicker and more comfortable for both domestic and international passengers.
