Agyei Krom, Central Region — A 38-year-old man, Emmanuel Cudjoe, reportedly took his own life while in police custody at the Agyei Krom Police Station, following his arrest over allegations of defiling his 11-year-old stepdaughter.
According to the police, Cudjoe was found hanging in his cell using a piece of cloth believed to have been torn from a blanket. Preliminary investigations indicate there were no visible signs of external injury on the deceased.
The arrest of Cudjoe came after allegations surfaced regarding the sexual abuse of his minor stepdaughter, sparking outrage in the local community. His sudden death in custody has raised questions about the conditions and supervision practices at the police facility.
