Stewards Hospital Appeals for Help to Identify Young Survivor of Deadly Odumase Crash
Authorities at Stewards Hospital in Yawkwei, located in the Asante-Akyem South Municipality of the Ashanti Region, have appealed to the public to help identify a young child who survived the tragic road crash at Odumase that claimed the lives of 13 people.
According to hospital authorities, the child was among the survivors rescued from the devastating accident and is currently receiving medical care. However, efforts to identify his relatives have so far been unsuccessful.
Hospital officials revealed that the boy speaks only the Ewe language, making communication and the search for his family more challenging.
Preliminary information suggests that the child’s mother was among the 13 people who lost their lives in the crash, leaving him without any immediate family members at his bedside.
The hospital is therefore calling on members of the public, particularly those from Ewe-speaking communities, to assist in identifying the child or providing any information that could help trace his relatives.
Authorities believe someone may recognize the boy or know his family and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as soon as possible.
The heartbreaking situation has sparked sympathy from many Ghanaians, with calls for the public to share the appeal widely in the hope that the child can be reunited with surviving family members.
The Odumase crash is one of the deadliest road accidents recorded in recent times, claiming 13 lives and leaving several others injured. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy are ongoing.
