Deputy Attorney-General Commends Security Agencies for Supporting Successful Prosecutions
Deputy Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, has expressed profound appreciation to Ghana’s security and investigative agencies for their unwavering support in assisting the Attorney-General’s Office with the information required to prosecute criminal cases.
Speaking on the role of the various institutions in strengthening the country’s justice system, Dr. Srem-Sai acknowledged the dedication and professionalism of investigators who work behind the scenes to gather evidence and support legal proceedings.
“We are very grateful to our investigators, the IGP, the Director-General of the CID, EOCO, and everyone working within these institutions. They have been instrumental in supplying us with the information needed to carry out these prosecutions,” he stated.
His remarks highlighted the collaborative relationship between the Attorney-General’s Office and key law enforcement agencies, including the Ghana Police Service, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
According to Dr. Srem-Sai, the work of investigators and intelligence officers is critical to ensuring that prosecutors have credible evidence to present before the courts. He noted that successful prosecutions depend not only on legal expertise but also on the quality of investigations conducted by security agencies.
The Deputy Attorney-General praised the commitment of officers across these institutions, emphasizing that their efforts contribute significantly to the fight against crime and the promotion of accountability and the rule of law.
He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with investigative bodies to ensure that justice is served efficiently and that individuals accused of wrongdoing are prosecuted based on credible evidence gathered through lawful investigations.
