NPP’s Chairman Buga Buga Slams Mahama Government, Labels President ‘Worst Ghana Has Ever Had’
The Third National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Osman Masawudu, popularly known as Chairman Buga Buga, has launched a blistering attack on President John Dramani Mahama and the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing the administration of failing to fulfill its campaign promises and targeting opposition members.
Speaking publicly, Chairman Buga Buga described President Mahama as “the worst President Ghana has ever had,” claiming the current administration has failed to establish a meaningful legacy since returning to office.
According to the senior NPP official, the NDC deceived Ghanaians during the election campaign with promises such as implementing a 24-hour economy and establishing a Women’s Development Bank. He alleged that the government has instead shifted its focus to pursuing and arresting members of the opposition New Patriotic Party.
“The NDC are scammers and liars. They deceived Ghanaians with promises of a 24-hour economy and a Women’s Development Bank,” Chairman Buga Buga said. He further accused the government of attempting to instill fear and panic within the NPP through the arrest of some of its members.
His remarks come amid heightened political tensions between the NDC government and the opposition NPP, with both parties trading accusations over governance, accountability, and the handling of ongoing legal matters involving some opposition figures.
Chairman Buga Buga maintained that the government should prioritize fulfilling its campaign commitments and addressing the needs of Ghanaians rather than focusing on actions he believes are politically motivated.
The Mahama administration has previously maintained that law enforcement agencies operate independently and that any investigations or prosecutions are conducted in accordance with Ghana’s laws, rejecting suggestions that opposition figures are being targeted for political reasons.
The comments are expected to further fuel political debate as both the NDC and NPP continue to clash over the government’s performance and its handling of national issues.
