“Politics is a Spiritual Exercise” – Afenyo-Markin Urges NPP Members to Stay United Ahead of 2028
Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has urged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to approach politics with wisdom, unity, and spiritual discernment as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
Addressing the newly elected NPP constituency executives in the Central Region, Afenyo-Markin reminded party faithful that politics extends beyond strategy and campaigning, stressing that it is also a spiritual undertaking that requires faith, patience, and purpose.
“Politics is a spiritual exercise; don’t do it with your naked eye,” he told the gathering, encouraging party members to remain focused on the bigger picture rather than allowing personal differences and internal disagreements to weaken the party.
The Minority Leader emphasized that unity would be the NPP’s greatest strength as it works toward regaining power in the 2028 elections. He called on the newly elected executives to work closely with all party stakeholders, build stronger grassroots structures, and promote peace within the party.
According to Afenyo-Markin, every member has a role to play in rebuilding the party and reconnecting with the electorate. He urged party supporters to avoid divisions, remain disciplined, and prioritize the collective interest of the NPP over individual ambitions.
He further encouraged the executives to serve with humility and dedication, noting that effective leadership at the constituency level would be crucial in mobilizing supporters and strengthening the party’s presence across the Central Region.
Afenyo-Markin concluded by expressing confidence that with unity, hard work, and commitment, the NPP would be well-positioned to secure victory in the 2028 general elections.
