Builsa North Member of Parliament James Agalga has formally taken over as the new Majority Leader in Ghana’s Parliament, following his elevation to the leadership position.
Agalga has pledged to work with members across the political divide and promote cooperation in Parliament as he begins his new responsibility.
His assumption of office comes at a significant time for the legislature, with Parliament dealing with several major national issues and legislative matters.
The new Majority Leader is expected to lead the governing side in parliamentary business while working with the Minority to ensure important matters receive the necessary attention.
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has also expressed his willingness to support Agalga in his new role, although he maintained that the Minority’s ultimate objective remains to become the Majority in the future.
