Sylvester Tetteh Explains Role of NPP General Secretary in Opposition
Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary Sylvester Tetteh has outlined what he believes should be the approach of the party’s General Secretary while the NPP remains in opposition.
According to him, an opposition General Secretary must focus on effective political communication and propaganda to advance the party’s interests and challenge the governing administration.
“We are in opposition, we don’t need facts. We need to propagate. If you speak as an opposition General Secretary, National Security must meet,” Mr Tetteh said.
He explained that the position requires a strategic approach to political messaging, particularly in holding the government accountable and strengthening the party’s opposition activities.
His comments have generated attention within political circles, with the remarks highlighting his view of the responsibilities and tactics required of the NPP General Secretary during a period in opposition.
Mr Tetteh is seeking to become the next General Secretary of the NPP and is positioning himself as a candidate capable of strengthening the party’s communications and organisational structures ahead of future political contests.
