Tensions within the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) appear to be escalating after former Assin Central MP and presidential hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, launched a sharp attack on Bono Regional Chairman of the party, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC.

Speaking during a recent public appearance, Kennedy Agyapong responded to comments allegedly made by Abronye and another party communicator, KOKA, warning that he would address the matter at the appropriate time.

“Someone like KOKA said my head has been cut open before. He doesn’t know what will happen to him. I know when to run, and I know when to hit. I will deal with Abronye in my own time. He has no idea what will happen to him,” Agyapong stated.

The outspoken politician, known for his fiery rhetoric and blunt political commentary, did not elaborate on what actions he intended to take against Abronye DC. However, his remarks have quickly sparked debate among party supporters and political observers, many of whom see the latest exchange as evidence of growing divisions within the NPP.

The relationship between Kennedy Agyapong and some leading figures within the party has been under intense scrutiny since the NPP’s internal presidential contest. Several disagreements and public exchanges have fueled speculation about factional tensions ahead of future political battles.

Abronye DC has yet to publicly respond to Kennedy Agyapong’s latest comments. However, the remarks are already generating significant discussion on social media, with supporters of both men weighing in on the controversy.

Political analysts believe such public confrontations could pose challenges for party unity as the NPP seeks to reorganize and position itself for upcoming electoral contests. Others have urged both leaders to resolve their differences internally to avoid further deepening divisions within the party.

As reactions continue to pour in, many Ghanaians will be watching closely to see whether Abronye responds and whether the war of words between the two influential NPP figures escalates further.
