GRDA Train Carrying 150 Passengers Damaged After Hitting Goat Near Ashaiman
A GRDA DMU 002 train transporting approximately 150 passengers from Tema Harbour to Afienya sustained damage after colliding with a goat shortly after departing Ashaiman Station.
The incident occurred moments after the train left the station, when the animal reportedly strayed onto the railway track. The impact damaged the lower front section of the train.
Despite the collision, no passengers were reported injured. Railway officials are expected to assess the extent of the damage and determine whether it will affect subsequent services.
The incident has renewed concerns about animals gaining access to railway lines, with calls for stronger measures to improve safety and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
