Gold Fields Limited has entered into a landmark $5 million, two-year sponsorship agreement with the Ghana Football Association aimed at strengthening football development across multiple national teams and the domestic women’s league.
The partnership is designed to provide financial and logistical support to Ghana’s senior men’s national team, the Black Stars, the senior women’s team, the Black Queens, the para football team, the Black Challenge, as well as the Women’s Premier League.
According to details of the agreement, the sponsorship will help improve team preparations, enhance player welfare, and support the overall growth of women’s football in Ghana. It is also expected to boost visibility and competitiveness for the various national teams on the international stage.
Football stakeholders have welcomed the deal as a significant step toward strengthening sports development in the country, particularly at a time when investment in women’s football and grassroots programs is increasingly seen as crucial for long-term success.
