Asante Kotoko have clinched their 26th Ghana Premier League title after a dramatic final day that saw them beat Medeama SC 3-0 while Accra Hearts of Oak could only draw 1-1 with Bechem United. The title was decided on goal difference, with Kotoko finishing level on 62 points with Hearts.

Strikers Frank Mbella Etouga and Isaac Opoku Agyemang were the heroes, contributing 14 and 12 league goals respectively to power the Porcupine Warriors to glory. Head Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum collected his second league title with the club.

"The players showed character all season. When it mattered most, they delivered," Ogum said after the final whistle at the Baba Yara Stadium, where thousands of fans had gathered to witness the celebrations.

Hearts of Oak's title challenge, which had looked unstoppable as recently as four weeks ago, unravelled in the final stretch as they dropped crucial points against mid-table sides. The Phobians will look to the FA Cup, where they face Kumasi Asante in the final next month, for consolation.
