The Attorney General has responded strongly to former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame over comments concerning the ongoing investigations involving the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO).
Speaking on the matter, the Attorney General questioned how Mr. Dame could confidently state that there is no fresh evidence against the former NAFCO boss when investigations are still ongoing. According to him, the former Attorney General should rather focus on supporting his client through the legal process instead of making media appearances on radio and television.
“How would he know whether there is fresh evidence? Instead of accompanying his client, he is busy granting interviews on TV and radio,” the Attorney General stated.
He further revealed that the former NAFCO CEO had been discharged from the hospital and was expected to report for interrogation. The Attorney General added that Mr. Dame is free to be present during the questioning if he chooses to prioritize that over media engagements.
The comments come after Godfred Yeboah Dame reportedly argued publicly that there is no new evidence to justify further actions against his client.
The latest exchange has intensified public attention on the NAFCO investigation, with many closely monitoring developments surrounding the case and the ongoing political and legal arguments between the two senior legal figures.
