Two women in Nigeria have been arrested following allegations that they drugged and robbed a man they met on Tinder during a visit to his home, in a case that has sparked widespread online attention.

Alleged encounter turns violent

According to reports, the two suspects met the victim through the dating platform and later visited his residence under the pretext of spending time together. The situation reportedly escalated when the women offered to give the man a massage.

It is alleged that during the encounter, the victim’s drink was spiked, rendering him unconscious.

Valuables stolen while victim was unconscious

While the victim was reportedly incapacitated, the suspects are said to have stolen several high-value items, including two iPhone 17 devices, a MacBook, designer clothing, bags, and other personal belongings.

The stolen phones were allegedly sold for a total of ₦8,000.

Victim sets trap leading to arrest

After regaining consciousness the following morning, the victim reportedly discovered that his belongings were missing. Using access to another phone, he is said to have devised a plan to track down the suspects.

He allegedly posed as another interested man and arranged a meeting with the women. When they arrived at the agreed location, they were met by law enforcement officers and the victim, leading to their immediate arrest.

Investigation ongoing

Authorities are expected to continue investigations into the incident as concerns grow over rising cases of online dating-related scams and violent theft.

The case has since drawn reactions online, with many urging caution when meeting strangers from dating platforms and emphasizing the importance of personal safety.
