Born in 1919 at Cow Lane in Accra, the Chief Imam has walked through nearly every chapter of Ghana's modern history — and through it all, his message has never changed: peace, unity, and love for one another, regardless of religion or background. In a country where faith can sometimes divide, he has spent decades being the voice that brings people together. Since assuming the office of National Chief Imam in 1993 — the very first person to hold that position — Sheikh Sharubutu has become far more than a religious figure. He is a peacemaker, a bridge builder between Christians and Muslims, a champion of education, and a spiritual father to the entire nation. His establishment of the Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu Education Trust Fund alone has opened doors for thousands of students who would otherwise have been left behind. At 107, the man still stands as a symbol of what it means to live a life of purpose. Happy Birthday, Your Eminence. May Allah continue to bless you with good health, peace, and many more years of wisdom to guide this nation.
