Addressing party faithful in Tarkwa, Chairman Wontumi stated that although the NPP faced setbacks during the 2024 elections, the party has learned valuable lessons and is already positioning itself for a stronger comeback in 2028.
“Election 2024 they delayed us, but in election 2028 they cannot stop Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia from becoming President of Ghana. They can’t stop the NPP from winning election 2028,” he told supporters amid cheers from the crowd.
Wontumi emphasized the need for unity within the party, urging members to put aside internal differences and work collectively toward a common goal. According to him, a united NPP remains a formidable political force capable of reclaiming power in the next electoral cycle.
The outspoken party chairman also outlined his vision for a revitalized and victorious NPP, stressing the importance of grassroots mobilization, party discipline, and unwavering commitment to the party’s ideals.
His remarks come at a time when political parties across Ghana are assessing their performances in the 2024 elections and preparing strategies for the future. Wontumi’s endorsement of Dr. Bawumia as the party’s presidential hopeful is likely to further fuel discussions about the NPP’s leadership direction ahead of 2028.
