Sarkodie has made history by becoming the first African artist to surpass 50 million streams in a single week on Audiomack with his ninth studio album 'Obi Ba' (Someone Will Come). The record-shattering achievement underscores the Tema rapper's continued dominance of the African hip-hop scene more than 15 years after his debut.

'Obi Ba' features collaborations with Burna Boy, Wizkid, Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, and international artists including J. Cole and Lil Baby. The lead single 'Agbogbloshie Dreams', which addresses inequality and resilience in Ghana, has topped charts in 12 African countries.

Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo, took to social media to share his disbelief. "I've been doing this for over a decade and Ghana never stops pushing me. This record is for every kid in Tema, Chorkor, Nima — everywhere," he wrote.

The album has also received critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone naming it one of the top 10 albums of the year globally. A 14-city African tour is set to begin in Accra next month before moving to Europe and North America.
