The victim, Richmond Benye, was reportedly shot dead on Saturday evening by unknown attackers while going about his routine activities.
According to preliminary reports, Benye—well known locally for his food vending business—was killed under circumstances that are still unclear. Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the attack, as investigations remain ongoing. He is survived by a wife and a young child, leaving his family and community in deep mourning.
Over the years, the Nkwanta South area has faced recurring clashes, with periodic violence disrupting daily life, affecting businesses, and leading to loss of lives. Even with the presence of security forces and ongoing mediation between rival factions, occasional attacks have continued to occur.
