Nigerian comedian Klint Da Drunk has expressed deep gratitude to Ghana for playing a major role in shaping his career. In an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Showbiz A-Z, he revealed that his breakthrough moment came after performing in Ghana, a turning point he says he will always cherish.

According to him, he was virtually unknown when he arrived to perform at the TV3 Mentor event. However, everything changed overnight after his performance was broadcast. He recalled that while audiences initially paid attention to stars like Desmond Elliot and Segun Arinze, the spotlight quickly shifted to him the next day, with fans rushing to take photos and celebrate his act.

He noted that the overwhelming support he received from Ghanaians marked the beginning of his rise and has remained consistent ever since. That experience, he said, is the reason he continues to hold Ghana close to his heart.

Klint Da Drunk won over audiences with a standout performance at the Mentor show, delivering a hilarious routine built around popular reggae phrases. Performing in his signature “drunk” persona—complete with a staggering walk and folded trousers—he left the entire auditorium in laughter. Despite not rehearsing with the band beforehand, the act turned out to be a massive success, and many fans in Ghana still remember it fondly.

Known off stage as Afamefuna Klint Igwemba, he is regarded as one of the pioneers of stand-up comedy in Nigeria. Over the years, he has performed across Africa and internationally, appearing in films and major comedy shows, while helping shape the modern African comedy scene.
