The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a special fast-track initiative to replace Ghanaian passports that were lost or damaged during the recent floods that affected parts of the country.
In a statement issued on Friday, July 3, the Ministry said all eligible applicants will receive replacement passports within one week as part of efforts to support flood victims and ease the burden caused by the disaster.
According to the Ministry, affected persons should contact the dedicated helpline 055 936 8563 between Friday, July 3, and Friday, July 17, 2026, to begin the replacement process.
Applicants will be required to provide their name, date of birth, gender (as they appear in the lost or damaged passport), as well as a contact phone number for verification and follow-up.
The Ministry expressed sympathy to all those affected by the devastating floods, extending condolences to families who lost loved ones and reaffirming its commitment to supporting the government’s recovery efforts.
The intervention follows widespread flooding in parts of Accra and other communities after days of heavy rainfall, which resulted in the loss of lives and destruction of property, including important personal documents.
