A 36-year-old businessman from East Legon, Joshua Kojo Anane Boateng, has been arrested by the Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police Service Criminal Investigations Department (CID), in collaboration with the Bureau of National Investigations, over serious allegations involving multiple women.
According to reports, the suspect is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting women, secretly recording intimate encounters, and distributing the videos online without the victims’ consent. Authorities say the alleged acts have raised widespread public concern over privacy violations and the growing threat of cyber-enabled sexual abuse.
Following his arrest, Joshua Kojo Anane Boateng was arraigned before court and has since been remanded into custody to allow for further investigations. Law enforcement officials say they are continuing to gather evidence and are encouraging anyone who may have been affected or has relevant information to come forward.
The case has sparked renewed conversations about online safety, consent, and the need for stronger action against digital crimes and sexual exploitation in Ghana.
