The Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II has officially cut the sod for the construction of a cassava starch processing factory in Dormaa, marking a significant step toward industrial development in the area.

The project, estimated to cost between $1.5 million and $2 million upon completion, is expected to transform cassava production in the region by adding value to local harvests and reducing post-harvest losses. It is also projected to create numerous job opportunities for the youth and other residents within the Dormaa enclave.

According to the Dormaahene, the initiative is being financed by the people of Dormaa themselves. He emphasized that the funds raised will be directed toward the construction and successful completion of the factory, highlighting community ownership and participation in the development process.

The project is seen as part of broader efforts to promote agro-industrialization and improve livelihoods through local resource utilization. Once completed, the factory is expected to serve as a major boost to the local economy and position Dormaa as a key player in cassava processing in Ghana.
