Teacher Unions Set August 31 Deadline, Threaten Nationwide Strike Over Salary Delays
Teacher unions are threatening industrial action if newly promoted teachers are not placed on their appropriate salary scales by Monday, August 31. The Education Ministry is scheduled to meet the unions on the same day in an effort to resolve the dispute and prevent disruption to schools.
