No More Imported Rice? Government Sets 2028 Target
Ghana has set a target of becoming self-sufficient in rice production by 2028, supported by an US$18.8 million African Development Bank grant for the REWARD project. The initiative will support farmers with land development, improved seeds, mechanization, processing and other measures designed to increase local rice production and reduce imports.
