The DVLA will remove the registration year from vehicle number plates as part of a new registration system aimed at discouraging delays in vehicle registration. CEO Julius Neequaye Kotey says the redesigned plates will also include enhanced security features to improve identification and reduce fraud.
A National Service Personnel serving at the DVLA has been charged with allegedly stealing GH¢308,300 through unauthorised Mobile Money transfers from his supervisor’s merchant account. He has pleaded not guilty and was granted GH¢100,000 bail as the case has been adjourned to August 4, 2026.
The DVLA has warned the public against fraudulent SMS messages requesting payment of fake traffic fines through unofficial websites. The Authority says it does not offer discounted fines and has urged motorists to verify all payment requests through official channels.
