MTN Ghana has posted record pre-tax profits of GH₵2.3 billion for the first half of 2025, a 42% increase from the same period in 2024. The telecom giant attributed the stellar performance to surging Mobile Money transactions, increased data consumption, and the expansion of its fintech services.

Mobile Money processed GH₵320 billion in transactions during the first half, up 38% year-on-year. MTN's active subscriber base grew to 28.5 million, cementing its position as Ghana's largest telecommunications company.

CEO Stephen Blewett told investors at the results presentation that the company plans to invest GH₵800 million in network upgrades over the next 18 months, including the rollout of 5G services in Accra and Kumasi. "We are building for the future of a digital Ghana," he said.

The results come as Vodafone Ghana's parent company continues to explore a sale of its Ghanaian operations, potentially reshaping the competitive landscape in the telecommunications sector.
