Government Secures Deal to Purchase 30% of Large-Scale Gold Output

The Government of Ghana has reached an agreement with the Ghana Chamber of Mines to acquire 30 percent of the gold produced by large-scale mining companies operating in the country.

The deal was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding under the Ghana Accelerated National Reserve Accumulation Programme (GANRAP).

The initiative is expected to support Ghana’s efforts to increase its gold reserves while strengthening the country’s position in managing its mineral resources.

The agreement forms part of broader measures aimed at boosting national reserves and ensuring that Ghana derives greater value from its gold production.
