UK and Ghana Deepen Customs Cooperation to Boost Trade

Ghana and the United Kingdom have taken steps to strengthen cooperation in customs administration following the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries.

The agreement, signed on Friday, August 14, brings together the UK’s His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to improve customs operations and make legitimate trade between the two countries easier.

The partnership is expected to strengthen compliance, improve trade procedures and support efforts to reduce challenges faced by businesses involved in cross-border commerce.

Officials say the enhanced cooperation will also contribute to economic growth by promoting more efficient customs systems and facilitating international trade.

The agreement forms part of broader efforts by Ghana and the UK to deepen economic relations and create a more supportive environment for businesses and traders.
